All patrons must go through Coronado security, which consists of a metal detector scan and a bag search. Please note that non-clear bags larger than 8.5” x 11” are not prohibited. More information on prohibited items can be found at the link below or on our Plan Your Visit page.
Venue policies are not set by the RSO. As a resident company of the Coronado, we adhere to the set policies and strive to create a safe and welcoming environment. Questions and concerns regarding venue policy should be addressed to the Coronado/Legends Global.

Rockford Symphony Orchestra concerts are best enjoyed by children 6 and older. Youth (18 and younger) are free for all Masterworks concerts and $15 for all Pops concerts.
If you plan to bring a young child, we recommend that you choose seats near an isle and/or exit. If you need assistance finding the right seat for your family, please call us at 815.965.0049 or visit our box office at 711 N. Main Street.

RSO concerts typically begin promptly at the advertised start time. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before concert time so you have time to park, get through the security check, and find your seats.
On each concert page is a schedule, including what time the doors open and if there is a pre-concert activity.
If you arrive after the concert begins, you will be asked to wait in the lobby until there is a break in the performance so as to not disrupt other concertgoers when you enter.
Venue FAQs
-
There is no dress code! Most people dress in “business casual” attire, but you will see everything from jeans and a t-shirt to suits and cocktail dresses.
-
Concerts usually last 1.5 -2 hours with a 15-20 minute intermission. Some concerts will be given without intermission, which will be listed on your concert card and the Digital Guide.
-
Share your enthusiasm at the end of each individual piece (when the conductor lowers his hands). If there are multiple movements (sections of the larger work) listed next to a piece on your program card, it’s customary to wait until the end of the last movement to applaud, so as not to break the concentration of the performers. If you’re uncertain, it’s also okay to wait for cues from those around you!
-
We ask that you try to only leave your seat at intermission. If you need to leave during the performance, please do so during applause.
We recommend that parents with young children sit near and aisle and/or exit.
-
Concert cards will be available before each concert. For more information on the pieces, performers, and the RSO, check out the Digital Concert Guide.
-
You can check out our Orchestra 101 page!
-
We encourage patrons to use their phones to access our Digital Concert Guide. Please silence your phone when you enter the hall and turn your brightness all the way down if you plan to use the Digital Guide during the concert.

The RSO will endeavor to perform all scheduled concerts, even under the most difficult circumstances. In general, performances will be canceled or rescheduled only if the audience's or performers' safety is at risk. Ticket buyers will be refunded for a canceled concert or if the concert is rescheduled and the ticket buyer cannot attend the new date.
Every avenue that is available to the RSO will be used to inform audience members of a concert cancellation or rescheduling. That may include but is not limited to email, phone calls, text messages, and posting on social media and on the RSO website. Please watch these avenues for notification of concert changes.
