Plan Your Visit
We can’t wait to welcome you to the Rockford Symphony Orchestra
Make the most of your evening by exploring the information below.
-
There is no dress code! Most people dress in “business casual” attire, but you will see everything from jeans and a t-shirt to suits and cocktail dresses.
-
RSO concerts typically begin promptly at the advertised start time. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before concert time so you have time to park, get through the security check, and find your seats.
On each concert page is a schedule, including what time the doors open and if there is a pre-concert activity.
If you arrive after the concert begins, you will be asked to wait in the lobby until there is a break in the performance so as to not disrupt other concertgoers when you enter.
-
Bags no bigger than 8.5" x 11" x 6" are allowed in the Coronado. This size is not required to be clear.
Please visit the Coronado’s FAQ page for further detail on prohibited items.
-
Concerts usually last 1.5 -2 hours with a 15-20 minute intermission. Some concerts will be given without intermission, which will be listed on your concert card and the Digital Guide.
-
We ask that you try to only leave your seat at intermission. If you need to leave during the performance, please do so during applause.
We recommend that parents with young children sit near and aisle and/or exit.
-
Concert cards will be available before each concert. F for more information on the pieces, performers, and the RSO, check out the Digital Concert Guide.
-
Nope! Many frequent concertgoers enjoy learning more about the music at the concert and find it provides them a deeper appreciation, but the music is meant to be enjoyed all on its own. No studying required!
-
Share your enthusiasm at the end of each individual piece (when the conductor lowers his hands). If there are multiple movements (sections of the larger work) listed next to a piece on your program card, it’s customary to wait until the end of the last movement to applaud, so as not to break the concentration of the performers. If you’re uncertain, it’s also okay to wait for cues from those around you!
-
We encourage patrons to use their phones to access our Digital Concert Guide. Please silence your phone when you enter the hall and turn your brightness all the way down if you plan to use the Digital Guide during the concert.
