Danielle Gonzalez

Multimedia artist Danielle Gonzalez presents socially-inspired programs in sensory-stimulating performances. Collaborating with visual artists she is the founder of DAMET Percussion (dance, arts, media, electronics, and theater).

Her activist art productions are inspired by social topics including health and wellness and climate change. She performs on a vast array of instruments ranging from classical vibraphone to flowerpots, metal pipes, and recycled objects. Combined with projection, lighting, and spoken word, these are high-impact, yet portable compact shows that fit into a car.

Recent performances include Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity, Midwest Composer’s Symposium, University of Michigan, University of Indiana, and Siena Heights University. She has held a residency at Banff Centre for the Arts and Creativity and guest Artist for New World Symphony with the Knight’s Foundation's Vital Currents.

An active percussionist and educator nationwide, she has performed with the Toledo Symphony, Jackson Symphony, Des Moines Symphony, Central Iowa Wind Ensemble, Cheyenne Symphony, the University of Michigan Contemporary Directions Ensemble, and as a featured soloist with the University of Michigan Symphony Band and University of Colorado Percussion Ensemble performing Jennifer Higdon’s Percussion Concerto and Rosauro’s Concerto for Marimba.

In addition to her performing career, Danielle is an active Yoga Teacher certified as RYT 200 through Yoga Alliance. In addition to yoga classes, she teaches one-on-one yoga, wellness workshops, and guided sound baths. She blends live original percussion music with a fusion of yoga styles including vinyasa, yin, hatha, and aerobics for a one-of-a-kind fitness concert experience. Currently available for private booking both for individual and group sessions for yoga, lifestyle consultation, and sound baths. Contact her directly for inquiries.

A portfolio artist, Danielle utilizes her creative skills outside of music through photography, social media marketing, website design, video and audio engineering, content creation, voice acting, and meditation accompaniment.

Danielle completed her Master of Music at the University of Michigan and her Bachelor of Music degree in percussion performance at the University of Colorado Boulder. Her teachers include Joseph Gramley, Jonathan Ovalle, Doug Walter, Mike Tetrault, Lisa Pegher, Andy Reamer, and Ed Stephan.
