Rockford, IL – The Rockford Symphony Orchestra announced its 2016-17 season at a press conference on Tuesday, March 1 at Giovanni’s on Bell School Road in Rockford.
"It's a very exciting season,” said RSO Music Director and Conductor Steven Larsen. “Next season’s program is a blend of old and new, favorites and surprises, masterworks, and new discoveries. Every concert will highlight the magnificence of music, the excellence of the RSO, and the joy of coming together to hear live performance.”
The RSO is very pleased to announce an add-on concert to the season, “An Evening with Kristin Chenoweth”, on March 1, 2017. Emmy and Tony Award winning actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth will join the RSO for an unforgettable evening under the stars of the Coronado Performing Arts Center. Known for her roles in Pushing Daisies, Glee, The West Wing and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown, she may be most remembered by Broadway lovers everywhere for her origination of the role of “Glinda” the Good Witch in Wicked. RSO Season Subscribers will be able to purchase tickets to this show before the general public. General public tickets will go on sale September 1, 2016.
