The Rockford Symphony Orchestra and Rockford Dance Company are coming together at the Coronado Performing Arts Center to create a magical student matinee on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 10:00am.
Join us for this hour-long performance featuring dances from the second half of The Nutcracker Ballet. This performance will be hosted in English and Spanish by Argentinian choreographer and dancer Lucas Segovia.
Curriculum Guide
This study guide has been translated by students from the Spanish 308 Advanced Translation class at Rockford University under Dr. Yoandy Cabrera's supervision during the Fall 2022 semester. The student translators are Jaqueline Arellano Rodríguez, Taylor Escamilla, Laura Medina, Melanie Ortiz, and Yazmín Morales Acevedo.
The Spanish Translation Program at Rockford University has recently published a bilingual anthology of 21st-century Cuban poets, among other books. Last Fall 2022 semester, they published a bilingual edition (English-Spanish) of a modern theatrical version of Medea written by Dr. Cabrera's Education students. This publication and theater project received a grant from the Society for Classical Studies.
