Overview

The RSO serves our community by creating high-quality, live music experiences and providing unparalleled outreach opportunities for students through our Youth Concerts at the Coronado Theatre and the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra. Ticket sales account for only 50% of the Symphony's yearly revenue. The RSO depends on contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations to bridge the gap between concert revenue and operating expenses. Our supporters are as crucial to the organization as the musicians on the stage.

Whether you are a season ticket holder, volunteer usher, student in the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra, classmates attending an RSO Youth Concert, or Northern Public Radio listener who enjoy delayed broadcasts of Rockford Symphony concerts, all of you make up the RSO family.

By contributing to the Rockford Symphony's annual fund, you enable the RSO to provide more than 50,000 people in the greater Rockford area with exceptional cultural and educational programming throughout the year. • Music Performance - Your gift will be used to fund orchestra rehearsals, sheet music, theatre rental, and musicians' fees. All of these things are essential to bring symphonic music to life for our audiences.

• Youth Education - In order to build the audiences of tomorrow, the RSO must reach out to the youth of today. Your gift will be used to fund Youth Concerts and hands-on instrumental music instruction through the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra, as well as allow us to offer reduced-priced student tickets.

• Operations - Behind the scenes, a symphony has many needs. Your gift will be used to fund administrative costs - everything from marketing our concerts to buying paper for the copy machine!
