Rockford Symphony Orchestra Spotlights Principal Musicians

Rockford, IL - The Rockford Symphony Orchestra is pleased to feature four of its talented musicians in the February 13 classics concert, RSO Musicians in the Spotlight at the Coronado Performing Arts Center.

Principal flute Scott Metlicka is the soloist for the beautiful Ibert’s Concerto for Flute and the RSO Trombone section made up of, Rick Seybold, Brian Rogers and Michael Zielinski, are featured in Ewazen’s Triple Concerto for Three Trombones. The RSO will also perform Beethoven’s Coriolan Overture and Gli uccelli (The Birds) from Respighi.

“SoundBites” is an informal lunch and conversation with guest artist and RSO Principal Flute Scott Metlicka at Mauh-Nah-Tee-See Country Club on Friday Feb 13, from noon until 1p. “SoundBites” is a free event, hosted by Music Director Steven Larsen. Pre-concert lecture:

Lectures are an excellent way to prepare for the concert experience. Steven Larsen introduces the audience to background information on composers and musical selections in a lecture at 6:30 pm in the Coronado Theater, one-hour prior to the Classics Concert performances. Maestro Larsen's considerable knowledge, presentation of information, and sense of humor enrich the symphony performance. The lecture is free to all ticket holders.
