RSO Annual Youth Concert Targets 5th through 9th Graders
The annual Youth Concert offers area public, private, parochial and home school students and teachers the opportunity to attend a live, specially programmed performance that is not only a great listening experience, but targets state goals and standards. However, ALL grade level students are invited to attend. The RSO offers this opportunity at a much reduced ticket cost for students and provides listening CDs and a packet of educational materials for teachers to better prepare their students for the experience.
Two performances (10:00 and 11:30 a.m.) are offered at the Coronado Performing Arts Center on the date selected each season.
Some of the teacher comments from the most recent Youth Concert, “Lights, Camera, Action… and Music” featuring the compositions of Oscar winning American composer John Williams include:
“This (Youth Concert) was a lovely experience. Mr. Larsen and the RSO gave an excellent presentation that far exceeded my expectations. Music is fundamental to learning and we are well pleased! Thank you!”
“My students LOVED this concert! I come every year – wouldn’t miss it. Maestro Larsen was fabulous with the students.”
