Nancy Galbraith: Festive
Violet Pulse
Dvorák: Violin Concerto
Schubert: Symphony No. 9
Considered much too difficult
to play and never performed in his lifetime, Schubert’s majestic Symphony No. 9,
dubbed “the Great,” is acclaimed as one of the
masterpieces of all time.
The piece was discovered after
Schubert’s death by his colleague Robert Schumann and
soon after conducted by Felix Mendelssohn. Violinist Eva
León, who has become one of the most successful Spanish
violinists of her generation, will captivate the audience
with Dvorák’s lively and festive tour de force.
