In the twentieth century, classical composition began
to cross over into the stream of popular music. For the
first time, George Gershwin merged the musical idioms
of jazz and classical. RSO welcomes the return of Gershwin
expert, Jeffrey Biegel, to
perform with the RSO on Gershwin’s infamous Rhapsody
in
Blue and Leroy Anderson’s spirited concerto.
